THE NAIL FACTOR (Pavilion) Review- Eyelash Extensions

Trending all over the world: glam eyelashes.
No make up glam is complete without a full set of natural-looking, yet mega full and thick lashes. Probably made famous by the Kardashian/ Jenner sisters.
I really wanted this look, however I do not have the time nor patience to have to deal with glue and lashes in the morning or any time I go out.
I went to The Nail Factor on Saturday, and oh boy are the purple glam squad a happy and friendly bunch.
I was in the care of Londi Xulu. She was super friendly and most importantly gentle on my eyes.
Needless to say my eyelashes are now super bang.
The whole thing takes approximately 2 hours, which is definitely worth it, considering you want a flawless result without shedding any tears. They last about a month if your good to them and use oil-free mascara.
R450, for a complete transformation, these lashes are totally worth it!

DUT Annual Fashion Show 2014- BLOG THIS BEESH

DUT Annual Fashion Show 2014, aptly titled, "BLOG THIS BEESH".
A fashion bloggers dream, to view the graduating ranges of fashion students. This is where the creative journey begins. These students may very well be the next leaders in the fashion industry and I was so glad to be there to blog the event.
Hosted at DUT, Fred Crookes Sports Centre, the event co-ordinators did an excellent job of transforming the venue, The lighting and stage design enhanced the garments on the runway.
Congratulations to the Class of 2014.

Here is a short video on style on and off the runway.

The Morning Trade- Market

Ever been to the Neighbour Goods Market in Cape Town and thought that Durban should have one too?
Yes, we do have the I heart Market and similar, but who wants to wait once a month to try out Durban's quirkiest dishes.

Well Anna Savage,  the gem who brought you the I heart Market, has planted the seed to grow Durban's most wholesome produce.
THE MORNING TRADE- MARKET
Situated near the ICC, 8 Morrison Street, TMT, runs every Sunday from 8am to 2pm.
This market is all about food and organically grown, local produce.
If you're looking for an eclectic vibe in a rustic setting for Sunday Breakfast, then Morrison Street is your destination.
All food is fresh and DELICIOUS.  Try a little bit of everything. From felafels to cupcakes, burgers to fresh lemonade, this market has it all under one roof.

TIP:  If you're looking for the best Malay Koeksusters or Chicken Po'boy look for ConFusion's table. Something you will come back for every week.

Durban Day 2014 - late post-

Durban Day 2014 was sizzling.
The heat was overwhelming and so were the artists.
However this event boasted a banging line-up which made the heat bearable.
Style of the day; cropped tops, denim shorts, Aztec printed dresses and high waisted leggings.

Mali's Indian Restaurant

Recently we went for a Friday lunch at, Mali's Indian Restaurant
(77 Smiso Nkwanaya Road -old Goble Road, Morningside, Durban). From what I have heard their South Indian food tastes close to the dishes made in south India
The restaurant had a warm colour palette decorated with indian trinkets.

We all decided on having the Masala Dosa, a popular South Indian dish.
It basically is an extremely thin and crispy pancake that encloses a yellow potato curry.
It was a great choice.
We also tried the Dal Makhani, which wasn't as great.
The service was warm and friendly. I would go back for that Dosa any day.

Daddy Daughter Day Durban

My parents have just come back from Cape Town and oh man did I miss them. I took a few days off and spent this entire day with my daddy. We first caught a bit of the Oscar trial and had some tea.
We then headed of to check out the reconstructed Blue Lagoon. The development didn't look fully completed. However the natural beauty of ocean meeting river made up for it all. We also witnessed a local fisherman catch a baby sand shark (I hope he doesn't plan on eating it).
Taking a drive down the coast we noticed a marquee and stage being set up for the Indaba. We meandered through the roads around Ushaka and walked along the canal. The day ended with a stop at the Moyo on the pier. Beautiful sights and my dad. What more could a girl ask for?

Saturday night life- 1 OAK

Night life in Durban is limited to the places we know, which is unfortunate in my opinion, as we boast the most beautiful weather and natural beauty in the country.
However every now and then a new hang out is opened and we all are eager to check  it out.

1 Oak is situated at the roof top above Roma Revolving Restaurant. The view as you can image is spectacular at night. The interior is chic, yet cosy. Even though the interior is all white with colour LEDs, it does not feel cold. Mini screens are placed on the interior walls, with a chic choice of Ftv.
Music played is all old school RnB and Hip Hop.  There is a small dance floor, if you want to dance you can, and if you don't there's enough seating for you to just chill with your drink.
The cover charge for the night is R100 and the wait staff is very friendly.
The only vice of this place is that it is neither a lounge nor club, so you sit there for hours, yet have nothing to eat because they don't offer any food at all.
Other than that I found 1 Oak extremely cool.
Check them out on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/1oaknyc?fref=ts
